Giving a 4-month-old baby espresso or any form of caffeine is strongly discouraged and potentially harmful. Babies at this age are not developmentally ready to process or metabolize caffeine, and their tiny bodies are much more sensitive to its effects compared to older children or adults.
Here’s what this mother who gave her 4-month-old baby espresso says:
“A lot people act like they know soo much about babies…Every baby is different, you don’t know my baby, you don’t know how much sleep my baby needs. And I was just trying to think of ways to make my house run more efficiently and I was like it would be great if babies stayed thru the day so they sleep at night, cuz I sleep at night my husband sleeps at night soo I’m like we need to have the baby sleeping at night so we get some rest right? Soo I was like how can I get the baby stay awake thru the day? Soo I gave my 4 month old espresso and I did learn that that’s not the best idea but how I was supposed to know that if I didn’t try…”
